I have worked with clients over the last year and shared what I have learned through experience and research to help them reach their fitness/nutrition goals. Here is a testimonial from one of my current clients Kerri Wilson:
“About 2 years ago, after a considerable amount of cajoling from my neighbor, I joined the crossfit community at Crossfit Harrisonburg. I had been looking for a way to improve my cardiovascular health and get stronger, too. I wasn’t in poor health and I wasn’t overweight, I just wanted to tone up a little and live a healthier life. At age 46, I had the mindset that I wasn’t going to see a tremendous amount of change, but if I could slow the aging process by getting stronger, I was willing to try it.I fell in love with crossfit! Everything about it worked for me; the perfect combination of cardio and strength training, the variety of workouts (every day is different), the group classes, the individual instruction and monitoring, and best of all, the community of people. I saw immediate results in my abilities, my physical appearance and my overall health.But, after about a year and a half of going to crossfit 5-6 times a week, I hit a plateau in my performance and I was starting “thicken up” in the middle, my clothes starting getting tight, and my weight was creeping up. I am not that big into what the scale says, but the tight clothes were troublesome to me. I knew something was going on…Was it age (now 48)? Possibly. Did I need to find something different? I didn’t like the thought of that because I still loved crossfit, but it was an option. I couldn’t conceive of doing more workouts than I was already doing. Did I need to go on a diet? Eww!Then, I saw a “before and after” picture of Tori Ruckman over a two year period of time… Keep in mind that Tori is a perfect anatomy specimen, the picture of health, and an incredible athlete, so her “before” picture was impressive. However, her “after” picture was phenomenal! The next time I saw her I mentioned how amazing her “before and after” photo was. She said it was all about the “macros”. I had no idea what she was talking about…food I guessed…but beyond that I was lost. Not one to be “uneducated” I inquired further and my curiosity was piqued. She offered to help me monitor my macros, holding me accountable for what goes in my body and I was all in. I needed something and was so intrigued by her results that I was ready to start immediately.I started working with Tori on July 5th of this year. Two months into it, I saw greater gains in my performance and a noticeable difference in my body composition. At 48 years old, you just don’t expect to see that much change, especially in such a short period of time. I still work out the same number of days per week. My weight hasn’t fluctuated much, a couple of pounds down, but that can change on a daily basis. The big difference has been with my measurements have decreased by 5.5” in just 2 months and I have more muscle definition than I have ever had in my entire life. Who knew food could make that much of a difference?Tori’s knowledge of food and exercise has been the key factor in my success, helping me to make gains and reach goals that I never thought possible. She has held me accountable (which I need) in a positive and encouraging manner. I look forward to her feedback each week and I have no doubt that I will continue to build upon the foundation she has helped create. A little bit more amount me:
I grew up in the sports world so once I found CrossFit it became the missing puzzle piece to what was now my adult life (no sports). I have been competitive and tried to push to be my best physically and mentally since I started in June of 2012. I started to really focus on my nutrition about a year ago because I knew that was the next step in taking my CrossFit to the next level. Once I started to see success, fellow CrossFitters at CrossFit Harrisonburg started to ask me what I was doing and that is when I started working one on one with clients.
I absolutely love getting those check-in emails with their success stories and how they are so excited for the week they had. It is a hard thing to commit to but once you commit, your body and mind feel great. Each Monday I look forward to hearing from my clients because I love to help anyone reach their goals!
My Coaching Package:
Monthly Nutrition Coaching, $60-$100
- Emailed Health Questionnaire for me to receive clients basic information.
- Macronutrients evaluation to determine macronutrient daily goals (protein, fats, carbs).
- Week-by-week advice to help you reach your goals and I am available via email 24-7 with response within 24 hoursof your email.
- Weekly check-ins via email responding within 24 hours of your check-in.
- $100 for the first month (includes evaluation of macros and questionnaire), and $60 per month after initial month for continued nutritional support and guidance, as well as modifications to plan.
